LIGHTNING SWEEP LEAFS AND CLINCH PLAYOFF BERTH!!

The Lightning went into the weekend needing a win and a tie to secure a playoff berth in their inaugural year. Not only did they get a playoff berth they also took two from the Leaf''s and moved into the 7th playoff spot. The Lightning totally dominated the Leafs using their speed and quickness. Stellar goaltending by #1 Stu Scott gave the Lightning the confidence to concentrate on scoring. And scoring they did racking up 9 goals in the two game series. Leading the way for the Lightning was #21 Tyler Coe who had a goal and assist the first game and then a hat trick in the second. Next was #7 Chad Boeckman who racked up a goal and three assists. The scoring didn't end with this duo as #40 Grant Everett had two goals and an assist, #26 Willi Connolly a goal and an assist, #2 Tyler Crews added a goal and two assists and a goal by #55 Derrick Brown. Assists were also claimed by #8 Cody Miller, #18 Jake Patterson and #17 Larry Howe.
The Lightning are now off to Chicago were they will face Affton, Skokie and Peoria in the playoffs.
